12.06.07 - New Friends, New Fixtures_

It's that time again. And by "that time," we of course mean "we booked another slew of shows." As an experiment, we booked them in a spaced-out fashion instead of the short, two-week onslaughts of recently and early Fall. We'll see how that goes.

Biggest news is that we're playing The Khyber again on January 4th. Following that, we have shows at Piano's, Pete's Candy Store, Union Hall, and The Underscore, all in New York.

We're still working on the new songs, which are coming along nicely, as well as incubating other newness that has yet to reach the practice space. Sometimes, Sam and Pat keep their own solitary counsel on songwriting for a little while.

10.25.07 - Shows & Songs_

Your Action Set has a few upcoming shows! First is November 20th at the Khyber in Philly. We'll be playing with The Blakes and The Shots, both of which are definitely bands with "the" in their names. Playing the Khyber is a big deal for us, being from the area and having seen as many shows there as we have, collectively, so if you have to pick one show to go to in November, we'd point you towards that one.

Second is November 27th at The Delancey in Manhattan. We'll be playing with Baby Teardrops, and it's $6 to get in and is 21+. Then we're playing Kenny's Castaways on Bleecker. Again, it's 21+, $5 at the door, and we'll be playing with Syndey Wayser, whom we have yet to meet. Kenny's is a classic Village venue, and it should be a great show.

Besides that, we've been working on some new material to slip into our sets at these upcoming shows. The songs are (tentatively) titled "Sweet Business," "Say The Word," and "Claustrophobe," and we're pretty happy with the way things are shaping up. There's a definite possibility of us going back into the studio in the next six months to record a full-length album. Despite already having around forty songs kicking around the Action Set canon, Sam and Pat are continuing to write new songs, so what will ultimately end up on the album is a question that won't be answered for a good long while yet. We'll keep you posted.

08.06.07 - Summer Tour Addendum_

We've just finished our little summer mini-tour, and we just wanted to thank everyone who made it out to one or more of the shows. We had a great--although exhausting--time doing four shows in six days at four amazing venues. Thanks also to Red Orange Morning, Sure Juror, Network Of Halos, and the bassist from 16 Frames for lending me and Sam picks.

Next up for your Action Set? Possibly an LP. Stay tuned.

07.17.07 - New New Show_

We're also playing a show on August 1st at Maxwell's in Hoboken with our good friends Sure Juror.

07.10.07 - News Of New Shows_

Three new shows you should be aware of: July 21st at Otto's Shrunken Head Bar in the East Village, July 31st at Arlene's Grocery in... uh, the East Village (?), and August 4th at the North Star Bar. These are all big deals for us, and we'd appreciate you making it out to absolutely any of them. More information can be had by clicking on the venue name, visiting our MySpace page, or by rereading the paragraph.

07.01.07 - Greeting From Park Slope_

Now that it's officially July and your Action Set is nearly two years of age, we've gone and got proper web-hosting, complete with massive bandwidth and space and mailing lists and all kinds of crap like that. The design is going to change a bit over the next few weeks, but for now, the only difference is that clicking on the Music link will allow you to download the Longer Days EP in its entirety, as well as our ten-song set from the CD release party at Studio Luloo. In a few days, we'll post mp3s from our show at the North Star a couple months ago, so check back during the week.
